As a cooperative bank, the members regularly elect\u00a0representatives to represent their interests as owners on the bank&#8217;s committees.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives&#8217;\u00a0elections at the\u00a0PSD Bank have been carried out online since 2009. The online representatives\u00a0election\u00a0of the cooperative bank was carried out\u00a0in the period from March 31 2014\u00a0to April 27, 2014, as an <a href=\"\/election-glossary\/list-elections\">election by list<\/a>. The election list with proposals for a\u00a0future representative body was established by the election committee.<\/p>\n<p>The members were asked to vote with the click of a mouse\u00a0on whether they agreed with\u00a0the suggested\u00a0list or not. The application to participate in the online election\u00a0took place via the homepage of the PSD Bank.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-ltymfqmc-a7e66dfd12d3c3a0f73a2f3629a0358f '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><h2>Comfortable online voting<\/h2>\n<p>Since 2009, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polyas.de\/blog\/de\/kundeninterview\/der-vorstandsvorsitzende-der-psd-bank-westfalen-lippe-eg-zur-online-vertreterwahl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PSD Bank Westfalen-Lippe eG<\/a>\u00a0has allowed\u00a0its members to vote quickly and conveniently\u00a0in\u00a0representatives&#8217; elections. In 2014, a total of 43,591 eligible voters were once more called to exercise their right to vote\u00a0online.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conducting\u00a0online elections shows that\u00a0a cooperative is forward-looking\u00a0and employs\u00a0innovative technologies to facilitate and increase participation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The bank was able to provide its members with\u00a0a secret ballot and a legally valid\u00a0election result\u00a0because POLYAS&#8217; online voting system is the first election system which adheres to the electoral\u00a0principles online.<\/p>\n<p>PSD Bank Westfalen-Lippe eG was, therefore able to provide its members with a modern and comfortable voting\u00a0process.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-ltymg7xp-b78053bb5458bc6df78350d079a20a72 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><h2>Secure access for online voters<\/h2>\n<p>To access the online voting system, each cooperative member received a username and one-time password. At\u00a0a credit union such as the PSD-Bank, using\u00a0the customer\u00a0account numbers of members as usernames was the obvious choice.\u00a0The unique one-time password was created by POLYAS through\u00a0complex security algorithms.<\/p>\n<p>The PSD Bank opted for\u00a0postal delivery of election documents to their cooperative members, which was also carried\u00a0out by POLYAS. POLYAS generally\u00a0sends the\u00a0<a href=\"\/security\/secure-authentication\">authentication<\/a>\u00a0data to voters through digital channels.
